Former Disney Channel star Debby Ryan has revealed she suffered a serious, life-altering brain injury several years ago, sharing details of a lengthy recovery that included six months of neurological rehabilitation.
The 33-year-old actress, best known for The Suite Life on Deck and Jessie, opened up about her experience during an appearance on Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals series.
Ryan explained that she has suffered five concussions over the course of her life.
"I had a pretty crazy, life-altering brain injury a few years ago, and I was out of commission for like six months. I went to this neurological rehab for like six months, went and did this fringe science treatment that was, like, really sci-fi and crazy. I've done it a couple of times, and it kind of got me back online, but there are some things that just did not come back." — Debby Ryan
