Privacy & Control

Your Code. Your Control.

Bond works with your local development environment and doesn't require a Bond account to get started.

Where data lives

  • API keys: Stored locally on your machine via the app's secure local storage. They are not sent to Bond infrastructure.
  • Project files: Stay on your machine. Bond reads them locally to build context.
  • No Bond cloud storage: Bond does not store your project data on our servers.

What leaves your machine

  • AI provider: When you run a task, relevant code & prompts are sent to your configured external AI provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) for inference — per that provider's privacy policy.
  • Telemetry & analytics: Minimal, if any — no project content is used for training by Bond. Check the app settings / privacy policy for current details.

We avoid vague "100% private" claims. If you use a cloud AI model, your provider will see the context needed to generate a response. For fully offline use, configure a local model if supported.
